Koinly review: imports, records and the output you need

The short version

Where this tool fits

A hosted transaction-import and reporting service to compare when reconciling records across multiple sources. A generated report is only as dependable as its imported history and reviewed settings. This article does not verify a personal tax result.

What the documentation establishes

Koinly offers imports through supported connections, public addresses and CSV files, with portfolio and tax-report functions. Coverage, transaction limits and downloadable reports depend on the current plan and country. Automatic imports do not establish that a history is complete.

Where it fits into your routine

Take one month that includes a purchase, a transfer and a fee. Keep the original exports, import them and compare the result line by line. Investigate a transfer that looks like an unexplained receipt before extending the import to several years. The value of the service is partly in reducing collection work, but your acceptance check should focus on whether a representative set of records remains traceable.

The decision before you commit

Choose by the history you need to reconcile and the output you need to hand over. A low entry price is not useful if the necessary report or transaction capacity sits in another plan. Review data retention and account deletion terms before uploading financial history. If a classification is uncertain, record the question for an appropriately qualified adviser rather than accepting the software label because it looks finished.

Before choosing

Check country coverage, the exact integration, historical date range, transaction limit and report access before paying.
